Gates on the "Blair" Doodles (or "How I learned to love the Tablet PC").

Well, we all wondered what BillG would make of the UK press' analysis of the so-called Blair doodles from Davos. Now, thanks to news.com, we know.
Gates also showed his lighter side, poking fun at the doodles he recently left behind at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Handwriting analysts, who thought the sketch was from Tony Blair, said the scribble indicated the writer was either "struggling to concentrate" or "not a natural leader" or "frustrated and tense."

Gates showed a fake copy of his sketch, which had messages like "So hungry--need cheeseburger" and "I miss Clippy."

But then, he was reduced to pad and paper instead of a Tablet PC running OneNote, a note-taking application that Microsoft debuted with Office 2003.

"If I'd had OneNote, it would have been a lot better," he said.
I did wonder why he wasn't using a Tablet...

Probably because he hadn't rebooted it that morning.

Oh good grief. I have several WinXP systems and a Win2k3 system that have been running for months without a need for a fresh start. These are development systems too. I must say I haven't taken to the tablets as I find I can type much faster than I can scribble on a pad (or poke away at the pad's screen keyboard). My penmanship has gone downhill since I rarely write, mostly type, and so my inconsistent scrawls are a tough challenge on the recognizer. I do find I can write better (and faster) on a real piece of paper instead of the glass surface of a tablet. I guess I'll have to wait for that e-paper computer.

yes, you could smack Scoble upside the head for that one (well, I would but you're closer!). I don't reboot this system unless security patches demand it; why should I? If there aren't memory leaks, I won't need to. The memory leak in the TIP needs fixing, not me changing my behaviour.
