1. How can I recommend you a book? You've read everything! Hmmm... Try Novel Notes by Jerome K Jerome.

2. See 1 above. Have you read Nigel Williams? He's writing in your general geogeophical direction, anyway.

3. I wish I could remember what it's called, but I can't so I can only describe it. [livejournal.com profile] tamaranth has a home-compilation of Christmas music and on it there's a chorus of cats singing. It is one of the most kitsch things I've ever heard and you'll either love it or hate it...

4. Best in Show. I know you're a cat person, but that might even make it better.

5. Muse.

6. Powaqqatsi -- Philip Glass, soundtrack for second Godfrey Reggio 'Qatsi' film.

7. Again, you're going to be way ahead of me here. If you haven't seen http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html (Astronomy Picture of the Day) you really should...

8. [livejournal.com profile] dmw aka (ever now and again) Dr Titanium.

I'll look for the Jerome, having loved both Three Men books. Hopefully this'll be another collection of anecdotes in search of a plot!

Not heard of him. Is he the Wimbeldon Poisoner chap?

I think she's played it to me. I seem to remember it's called "Jinglecats".

The Rob Reiner dog show movie? I loved it! Especially the psychiatric treatment scenes...

Lizbeth has played me Muse in the past. I will give them another try! I preferred Elbow that time, but who knows now...

Oh, I love Glass. If you don't have a DVD then the double disc set of both of those films is a good reason for buying one!

Of course it's available as [livejournal.com profile] apod.

And I have added him!

Given that my sole knowledge of you is based on your journal, this is going to be tricky. Still, it's a nice meme, so I'll give it a go...

A book
Hrm. I don't read a whole lot of sci-fi, and you seem to have read everything going, but I think you might rather enjoy a kids book called The Phantom Tollbooth, unless you've read it already, of course.

An author
Blergle... I don't read obscure books. It's obvious, but have you read Tom Clancy's stuff? It may not be intellectually challenging stuff, but he does tell good stories.

A song
"Every OS Sucks" by Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie

A movie
Don't watch enough films to suggest anything.

An artist/band
Eep... there really isn't enough crossover between our musical tastes. You might enjoy the output of the Cambridge band Maker, but they've split and you'll have a hard time getting hold of their CD, Objective Perspective. Can that be the CD as well?

A website
Have a look at http://www.pvponline.com.

You'd probably get on with [livejournal.com profile] narenek.

I cannot enthuse enough about The Phantom Tollbooth. And I agree that if [livejournal.com profile] sbisson hasn't already read it (see comments passim), it might really appeal to him.

Oh it's a lovely book - I had to get the recent reprint as I'd lost my copy.

In a similar vein I can recommend Gerald Durrell's The Talking Parcel and Julie Andrews' (yes, her!) The Last Of The Really Great Wangdoodles.

Hello, hope you find the recommendation worthwhile.

I'm now wondering if we've rubbed shoulders at a previous Picocon or something.

It seems likely!

I think you should listen to some Fates Warning. You can share some off my PC when I'm in the office ;-)

You could friend [livejournal.com profile] middleman, since you met him, and he seems to have been writing a bit more regularly recently.

The Last Defender of Camelot by Roger Zelazny - because it contains "For a breath I tarry".

Not a song actually, but The big bamboozle from The Murky World of Barry Adamson.
