2. See 1 above. Have you read Nigel Williams? He's writing in your general geogeophical direction, anyway.
3. I wish I could remember what it's called, but I can't so I can only describe it.
4. Best in Show. I know you're a cat person, but that might even make it better.
5. Muse.
6. Powaqqatsi -- Philip Glass, soundtrack for second Godfrey Reggio 'Qatsi' film.
7. Again, you're going to be way ahead of me here. If you haven't seen http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html (Astronomy Picture of the Day) you really should...

A book
Hrm. I don't read a whole lot of sci-fi, and you seem to have read everything going, but I think you might rather enjoy a kids book called The Phantom Tollbooth, unless you've read it already, of course.
An author
Blergle... I don't read obscure books. It's obvious, but have you read Tom Clancy's stuff? It may not be intellectually challenging stuff, but he does tell good stories.
A song
"Every OS Sucks" by Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie
A movie
Don't watch enough films to suggest anything.
An artist/band
Eep... there really isn't enough crossover between our musical tastes. You might enjoy the output of the Cambridge band Maker, but they've split and you'll have a hard time getting hold of their CD, Objective Perspective. Can that be the CD as well?
A website
Have a look at http://www.pvponline.com.

The Last Defender of Camelot by Roger Zelazny - because it contains "For a breath I tarry".
2. Author
Ken Follett - possibly completely the wrong style for you, but you never know...
3. Song
Not a song actually, but The big bamboozle from The Murky World of Barry Adamson.
4. Film
I once saw a wonderful French comedy about two Paris detectives. Unfortunately, I don't know what it's called!
5. Artist/Band
Danny Wilson
6. CD
Nixon by Lambchop
7. Website
Freinds of Leasowe Lighthouse. Yes, I know it's on Freeserve but when the webcam is working it's great to see home!
