Floating around on various blogs were links to this site, with its list of what it considers the 100 greatest SF novels. It's certainly an interesting list, and one I think can be argued with (probably vehemently over a hot panel at an Eastercon).

However, I'm a tad worried. I seem to have read 81 or so of them...

But I haven't read Slan.

The Plokta list, with added silly ratings, can be found at <http://www.plokta.com/plokta/issue7/guide.htm>. Must see how big the overlap is.

I come out to only 30% (but that does include Slan).

I haven't been reading nearly as much lately. Funny how having a wife, kids, and a fast net connection affect one's habits.

oops -- make that 70%. I counted the ones I hadn't read -- there were fewer of them.

There are some good books on the list, at least - some great ones, even. And nine that I haven't read (maybe fewer; the count might include a few I don't know by name but would recognize before page 10).

Make that eight I haven't read ... that description of Slan looks *awfully* familiar!
