More delights from Finder

Carla Speed McNeil, creator of the wonderful comic Finder, has recently published an online special, a five page story from the Finder universe entitled "Fetch".

Enjoy. I certainly did. It's got a bookshop in it...

(And then you should all rush out and buy King Of The Cats to learn more about the Nyima)

Hmmmm

Not read this "Finder" yet, though I believe FlickGC's a fan of it. Gotta say, though, that if that's a taster, I'm going to hate it... Bleah. Some kind of weird distasteful antropomorphic cat/human/sphinx thing in a cutesy catlover story? Not sure what was going on there, but it made my hackles rise...

it's far future decayed society; there are multiple races, lots of geneering - but people are still essentially the same

It's only a vignette from something a lot more deeper and complex - the bookshop and the people in it appear in Sin-Eater and Talisman, two of the collected stories from the 28 or so issues to date. I'd really recommend Talisman - conceptually it lives in a similar space to Bryan Talbot's Tale Of One Bad Rat (tho' here the abuse is psychological, and the release comes through story-telling rather than paint...).
