I'm curious about this, as I said in my comment above. Logically there shouldn't be any way that Google could have indexed them if they were secured behind a username and password. So I'm pretty sure that my friends-only postings were indexed back when they were public. Were any of yours public at any point in the past?

If somehow Google is getting at secured postings then that's a concern.

Check out this thread over in the [livejournal.com profile] lj_nifty topic on this. It's possible that some LJ clients post things as public first and then friends-lock it as a second step. Since the Blog search is an RSS feed, it will pick up every public post.

I checked the Google site for my own locked posts and found nothing. The only client I use is Semagic for Windows.

My secure (private) posts are still private. And a couple of friends-only journals I looked up seem to be OK.

But I object on principle.
