Yes, I particularly like the bit where it ignores the LJ 'do not rummage through my journal' ticky box, and the equally exciting bit where it seemingly rummages through locked LJ posts.

One thing that bugs me about this is that I have several LiveJournal articles that were public but are now secured friends only, and they show up in the searches. It seems like (at least I hope!) that Google indexed them when they were public. Following the links will block you if you're not on my friends list but the summary still shows up in the search results.

Ho ho ho. I like the way it makes all my "friends only" posts public. Hurray!

Bastards...

I'm curious about this, as I said in my comment above. Logically there shouldn't be any way that Google could have indexed them if they were secured behind a username and password. So I'm pretty sure that my friends-only postings were indexed back when they were public. Were any of yours public at any point in the past?

If somehow Google is getting at secured postings then that's a concern.

My secure (private) posts are still private. And a couple of friends-only journals I looked up seem to be OK.

But I object on principle.

Check out this thread over in the [livejournal.com profile] lj_nifty topic on this. It's possible that some LJ clients post things as public first and then friends-lock it as a second step. Since the Blog search is an RSS feed, it will pick up every public post.

I checked the Google site for my own locked posts and found nothing. The only client I use is Semagic for Windows.
