A familiar face will be returning to the TARDIS in the next series of Doctor Who: Sarah Jane Smith.

Looks as though the second season could be as good as the first...

You might want to put a cut in there, for the people who don't want spoilers. Doesn't worry me, but I can hear the storm of outrage building already!

Can't see it as being a spoiler when it's headline news on news.bbc.co.uk!

Ah, I've been watching other people tucking it behind cuts, and had the impression this was some sort of leak. Like I said, it doesn't bother me ...

K-9 was a royal pain in the arse. I sincerely hope not.

K9 was great when he was written well - admittedly that wasn't very often - and as a tag team with Romana he was bloody great at taking the wind out of The Doctor's sails.

The little bugger was death to any sense of tension; soon as the Doctor was placed in danger, it would trundle up and save the day. I hope it's rusted solid.

I'll admit that K9 was used very badly by many of the writers - but when he was used right he was lots of fun and was a nice counterpoint to Tom Baker's increasingly nutty performances. Douglas Adams and Baker/Pedler spring to mind as people that *could* write K9 well. In many ways Cpt Jack fills a similar role to K9 when he was written right (which probably leads to highly disturbing slash-avenues...).
