Had something similar happen to me on the way to Eastercon -- nearly got wiped out while overtaking a juggernaut that pulled out without indicating or checking his mirror. He didn't hit me but I overreacted and put the car into a bad wobble that crossed all three lanes before I got it damped down. Brown pants time: last time I did that I ended up spinning out (about fifteen years ago) and this time I was doing close to 80.

These big trucks are crying out for some kind of proximity detector that'll warn the driver if there's something low and fast close alongside them ...
