Let's just lob a web server in it...

If you're in the UK, and you're using the rather useful DigiGuide TV guide application, then you might not have noticed that they've sneaked in a little web server - so you can install your copy on a local server, and just browse from any machine, anywhere (if you're brave enough to open up a non-standard hole in your firewall).

Useful. Next - actually getting it to control the PVR.

Perhaps I need to get a Media Centre PC and run the Remote Record tool...

It turns out that there's a US version of DigiGuide, which may well have the same feature...

looking at the front page of DigiGuide's website though it doesn't seem to offer me anything over the radio times' site in terms of viewing selected channels, building reminders, etc.

or does it?

Of course those who have hacked their TiVos (with a network card and TivoWebPlus) have had remote record scheduling for ages. Shame they're not still retailing here. I doubt that anything similar is possible on SkyPlus though.
