Ah, but the trains in London stop working if someone spits on the line, or the temperature falls a tenth of a degree below zero, or if the wind's in the wrong direction, there's always some excuse. Took me two and a half hours to get home as opposed to just an hour. Thameslink are still buggered. I suspect some bean-counter somewhere decided to improve the shareholder dividend by skimping on drainage and drain maintenance work just like Railtrack skimp on other maintenance work. Crap drains, the lines flood, and we discover just what a bad idea a third rail system is during poor weather!

I'd love to wake up one morning this winter and find there'd been a foot of snow covering all of London. Proper snow, like we used to get up north, just to watch the entire city transport infrastructure grind to a halt. Preferably on a Monday, so there'd be some time off work...!
