Mick Farren... Mick Farren.

I recall a musician in the 70s who used to write songs about vampires and death... Mick Farren and the Deviants, part of the CBGBs and NYC new wave scene -- made an LP Vampire Stole my Lunch Money... I assume one and the same?

very likely. He wrote an entire novel in txtspk where rock'n'roll songs are the surviving religious texts
