The 3D print shop

Another piece of the future finally arrives, in the shape of eMachineShop.

Just make up a hardware design in the free CAD software (which also handles pricing), and then upload it to the site, where its shop of CNC machines do the work, before the final hardware is sent to you. It'll handle a wide selection of different machining types and materials.

Just think of it as a big printer that takes a while to send you your printout...

That looks like a gob-smackingly good idea! Wah - no time to play with it at the moment - do they send world-wide?

They only support Windows. (Although they say their software can import DXF.)

I smell a business opportunity for some X11/workstation based CAD company ...
