I had to buy this...

...I was out buying lunch, and I happened to be going past a record shop, when I found an album by a band called Arpanet...
...Then I saw it was called Wireless Internet...
...And then I read the track listing...

  • The Analyst

  • Illuminated Displays

  • I-mode

  • Wireframe Images

  • P2101V

  • NTT DoCoMo

  • Software Version

  • Devoid of Wires

  • Wireless Internet

...What else was I to do?

(Actually it turned out to be rather good French style synth pop - somewhere in style between Daft Punk, Air and Jean Michel Jarre... though it appears that the band are actually American...)

I bought an album at a record fair two weekends ago. It shared the same promise of a great title. Kung Fu Cocktail Grip by Hog Molly. Imagine my disappointment when it turned out to be second rate nu-metal screechings.

Arpanet are another sub-group/are linked to the mysterious Detroit group called Drexciya. Members are also in such groups as Dopplereffekt & Botham States, amoung others. Music by there can be found on variuos labels, such as Underground Resistance, Submerge, Wapr, & Dooplereffekt. They're very secretive & are very rarley seen in public. I wouldn't call them synth-pop though; they're electro all the way, in it's truest form
