The "so bad it's good" books

The only way to survive the tube is a book. And so, at Eastercon I picked up a pile of cheap books from the Talking Dead stall. Most were good, but the one I'm reading at the moment is skirting the edges of dire with a sense of vertigo. I'm not sure when it will tumble in, but it's not looking good.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to carry on reading it, too.

You should warn the rest of us away! I'm finding the backup of always having some electronic stories (or the latest Analog) on my PDA an antidote to being stuck with an unfortunate book. :-)

Ring of Five Dragons by Eric Van Lustbader. It's a poor man's version of A.A. Attanasio's Radix tetrad of techno fantasies. I just can't see the world, or care about the characters.

Finished it yesterday. Pretty sure I won't be bothering with the sequel.
