Graphing Flickr

I find social-space mapping tools fascinating toys, and the link explorer model (like the Java component from Touchgraph) is one of the more interesting ways of exploring a social network in an easy-to-understand, and graphical, way. We've already graphed LJ - now it's time to do the same for Flickr...

Here's mine.

A lovely bit of Flash UI design that...

Turnabout in the hi-tech PR world (so that's not a change then)...

Looks like there's a bit of a shake-up happening in the convoluted web of PR companies spun out of Text 100.

A conversation over lunch today (24 floors over the City of London) revealed that August One, main home of Microsoft's UK PR, is going to be split up, with the tech PR side of things (which is pretty much only Microsoft) being folded into Inferno, the company that was launched a year or so ago to pitch for Microsoft's CRM and ERP business. The remainder of August One will keep the name, and will stop handling technology PR...

Time to update the old address book, by the looks of things.

Strange online quizzes of our time #4567

When surreal web comics become online games: All the President's Hair. I'm not at all good at it. The best I can get it 2/7.

Another curtain closes

The Jersey Opera House is closing. It's the place where I discovered theatre, music (rock, folk and classical), stage humour (both dry and slapstick), and, yes, opera.

End of an era. It will be missed.

So is this the iPhone?

Motorola's E1060 has just been announced. It's got a scroll wheel, and is going to sync music - but Motorola are being cagey as to whether it's the much-rumoured iTunes phone. Still, there's plenty of time for Apple to put their oar in, as it won't be out until Q405.

A bit chunky looking for my tastes, but this looks like it's going to be a YPP*...
