It's a thought, certainly. At the moment, I'm writing these reviews to apply a certain discipline to my LJ activities, as well as proving to myself that I can still write reasonable reviews. It's been a while since I did it for money, but I did get some of my reviews used for cover quotes and back blabs (I'm pretty a pull quote from my review of The Reality Dysfunction is on pretty much all the US editions of Peter Hamilton's books...).
I'm still fond of the review I wrote of Gwyneth Jones' Kairos I wrote for SFX, where I got away with describing the book as a "conspiracy of angels and puppies"...
