There's a hole in the Moon...

...as photographic analysis has found a 2km crater on the site of an impact that was photographed in 1953...

An amazing piece of scientific detective work...

Finding the new crater offers scientists the opportunity to study subsurface unaltered lunar soils before exposure changes them, it says. Does that mean going back?
