I remember the skying being definitely brighter where the orb of the sun or the upward reflected light or whateve is above the visible sliver of sun is, so the brightness above it was there - not sure if that's the concentric circle you're seeing. will try to dig out my shots on a different camera and see if it's there/differently artefacted ;-)
