The Ultimate Videogame Smack Down: Mustelids Vs Sony

...and we have a winner, in what has to be the best magazine headline ever:

"Ferrets - More Fun Than A PlayStation." I think that's a verdict we can all live with.

I never knew Country Life had a sense of humour...

Brilliant!
I'm tempted to buy a copy now just to read the article to see WHY ferrets are more fun than a playstation.

Sony are doomed!!!!

I love the way that all the headlines are so wonderful, intiguingly bizarre without quite slipping into ironic surrealism, until the last, utterly mundane 'The finest recipe for roast pork.' Genius.

I'm also intrigued by "Shooting: the invitations everyone dreams of."

Sounds like tips we all could use.

I like "Shooting: The invitations everyone dreams of." What, like being let loose with a MG-34 machine gun, 5000 rounds and a brick wall to demolish? My luck doesn't run that way.

Damn. I think that may be one of the major secrets of the universe right there.

Totally not a surprise! :D

The shooting invitations I dream of have George W Bush and Rupert Murdoch standing blindfolded in front of that wall...

I'd also like to know why Jacobean houses are so strange. And I'd welcome an invitation to a shooting.

Which generation of PlayStation do they mean? If they mean the original PlayStation, maybe, but surely no ferret could compete with the awesome power of the Cell processor and Reality rendering engine in the PlayStation 3.

No one ferret, certainly. But this is a parallel array of ferrets...

Upgrade your ferret!

[identity profile] megadog.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 10:53 am (UTC)(link)
I tried to upgrade my Ferret to run Linux. It failed - though I am told that Linux can be installed successfully on Badgers.

I fear that zombie badgers may feature in an upcoming Charles Stross novel.

Country Life does indeed have a sense of humour (as well as being the world's best property porn magazine) and is home to the Tottering-by-Gently strip, as well as a number of rather good columnists.

Ferrets are cool - Weasels are cooler:

Trust me on this!

I'm sorry. I'll post that again...

Interviewer: Can you hear me Doctor Brooke-Ferret?

Dr Brooke-Ferret (Tim Brooke-Taylor): No, I can’t hear you.

Interviewer: Oh, well, I can’t hear you either.

Dr Brooke-Ferret (Tim Brooke-Taylor): You’ll have to speak up a little…

Interviewer: I said, "I can’t hear you either…"

Dr Brooke-Ferret: Neither can I.

Interviewer: Well, we seem to be having a little trouble, so I’ll just say "Goodbye, Dr Brooke-Ferret."

Dr Brooke-Ferret: Hello!
