Seeing as I have taken to reviewing the architectural peculiarities of London's gentlemen's lavatories, I have discided to open up the practice to all and sundry.

So I've created a new community, lav_reviews for this purpose...

I recall a remarkable convenience from the Eastercon trip -- one of those tedious, cheap, modern establishments which has benefitted from a caring attendent. Little touches like flowers, and ornaments. It was either the ladies' beneath the coffee shop in the Winter Gardens, or it was an otherwise anonymous motorway service area.

Then there was the ladies' downstairs from the Spanish Hall in the Winter Gardens. After negotiating the winding staircase, you find yourself in a vestibule. The toilets themselves are through the door to your left, but this room is the notable part. It's not the decoration, which is unremarkable, but the furnishings - a table, some chairs, and best of all - two full length, free-standing mirrors in a carved wooden frame, positioned at right angles to one another.

The Feuars Arms in Kirkcaldy has a remarkable Victorian gents, but you will need a guide to find this wonderful little alehouse...
