In March we spent a night in Death Valley, staying at Furnace Springs and taking a side trip up to
Salt Creek to see the
pupfish. They're amazing little things, tiny fish that have adapted to live in some of the most extreme conditions possible.
We were lucky, as there was plenty of water still (though signs of the dry summer to come were all around), and the pupfish were mating - with aggressive little yellow males darting around.
I decided to try out the HD video recording capabilities of my DSLR, filming a small group of the fish in a relatively shallow section of the creek.
