More up on IT Pro today, with my first look at the shiny (and very, very desirable) Blackberry Pearl.
As rumoured, RIM's new BlackBerry is an ultraslim black and silver camera phone (just 14.5mm thick) with a miniature glowing trackball replacing the familiar scroll wheel - which is why it's called the Pearl. Unveiled to the press in London yesterday, the Pearl is the opening salvo of RIM's assault on the growing 17.5 million device consumer smartphone market.

It's one of the smallest smartphones I've used, and one of the easiest to get to grips with, and its glowing pearlescent trackball is a rather distinctive, and delightful, feature. There'll be a full review next week.
