The huge bronze doors of La Sagrada Familia are lost in the majesty of its towers.

But when we slide our eyes away from the heavens, we can see such beauty in the details

I needed to talk to Google for next week's Guardian piece.

So I dropped their PR email address an email this morning.

Not only did the PR folk respond to my email quickly, they rapidly found me the right person to talk to, and then organised a call for just when I wanted it.

Then, when I spoke to the person, he gave me exactly the information I wanted, quickly, clearly and concisely, plus some extra information that helped me understand the whole topic a little better.

I suppose I shouldn't expect anything else from Google.

Compare this BBC news story about the role of deep sea bacteria in medicine with the opening scenes of Greg Bear's Vitals.

And then run away very fast indeed...

(but, mmm, phages)
