More Lord of the Rings palaeozoology...

...on watching "The Fellowship of the Ring" again it's pretty clear that Gwaihir the Windlord is a Haast Eagle, Harpagornis moorei, an extinct giant eagle that used to prey on the Moa.

After marypcb and I put up the latest set of shelves yesterday, I reached a landmark moment:

After over 7 years in this house I have finally got all my books on shelves.
