Technolust strikes again...

The Laserpod is a laser/led combination built around a slowly rotating Swarowski crystal and a set of diffuser domes that gives you a hi-tech home light show. - it's probably best thought of as a 21st century lava lamp.

Just stick one on your desk and chill out...

More Firefox neatness: Wikalong

Wikalong is a rather neat new add-on for Firefox that embeds a wiki in a side-bar - so you can annotate the web as you go. There are plans for allowing you to host your own wiki in this - so you could develop your own collaborative weblog with colleagues and friends...

Stuck on the M6?

You need a copy of The M6 Sights Guide.
The book - a follow-up to the M5 Sights Guide - lists more than 400 structures that can be seen from the car or are located near the road.

[...]

Among the entries are the so-called "Cloud Factory", near the Knutsford services in south Cheshire.

Clouds of steam - and occasionally flames - can be seen periodically from the road, prompting truckers to inform each other by CB radio when it is in operation.

On closer investigation, Mr Jackson found the factory dried grass for cattle feed.
