Those wild and crazy guys, Daft Punk, have finally finished their strangest work yet - turning their 2002 album Discovery into an anime musical, Interstella 5555, working with Leiji Matsumoto. An alien rock band ins kidnapped, brainwashed, and then released on unsuspecting earth public...
It's an interesting piece of work, very reminiscent of the bande dessinée French translations of manga I was reading in the early 80s - especially Albator (a translation of Matsumoto's Captain Harlock). And of course, the music is excellent...
