A note from our sponsors:

If the office network connection is too clogged with folk pulling in RealMedia streams while trying to listen to the warporn on Radio 5 Live, why not invest in a pocket DAB radio for your 6 Music fix?

My Perstel DR101 arrived over the weekend. Once I'd replaced the headphones, which were awful, with a decent set of Sony Fontopias, it rapidly became one of those "carry everywhere" pieces of superfluous technology. Smaller than a walkman, and really, really good reception - even on the train. I'm going to try using it via the iRock for in-car DAB...

(I still have to avoid thinking of fresh fillets of small flatfish fried lightly in butter and served with lemon juice and fesh cut flat parsley, everytime I read the acronym for digital radio...)

The latest build of nntp//rss is out now - and now supports the LJ API for posting...

"nntp//rss is a Java-based bridge between RSS feeds and NNTP clients, enabling you to read your favorite RSS syndicated content within your existing NNTP newsreader. RSS feeds are represented as NNTP newsgroups, providing a simple, straightforward and familiar environment for news reading. "

I've set up a Moveable Type blog at SandM as part of some column work, as I'm working on a piece on using blogs in business as a tool for knowledge management.

I'm expecting that I'll carry on using it for Application Development Advisor writing related blogging (mainly notes and relevant URIs) until we get the magazine site blogs live - and possibly for some other regular writing (keep looking out for big news likely to come here soon!)... There's an RSS feed here, if you really feel like following it!

It's likely that [livejournal.com profile] marypcb will be using it too, as we're going to be collaborating on an expanded version of the Application Development Advisor Internet Development column from now on.

Next week (on April the 1st!) the company I work for gets a new name, after we were taken over by a US company. So this week there's a big pile of branded left overs on a desk for us to pick over and take away before it gets skipped.

So far I have scored a bunch of decent polo shirts, some twizzle stress relievers, a decent pen, and a drink bottle.

Sic transit.

...after reading [livejournal.com profile] hawkida's most recent entry, it's probably worth pointing out to all and sundry that there's a new (and rather excellent) source of Jersey news from the BBC. Knocks the JEP's This Is Jersey off the pedestal big time...

(now if only it had an RSS feed)
