Another milestone passed on the MMS to LJ gateway development: the first actual moblogged entry has been made in the test journal. It's an image I took at a concert by Takfarinas, a Berber musician, with his band at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on the South Bank.
While running the gateway is still manual (to the extent that the scrape and post process is triggered by a user clicking a button on a Windows form), the application is now scraping a designated mailbox for MMS messages, extracting the text component and any image files, storing image files in a local directory before uploading them to a remote web server, and then composing an appropriate LJ postevent message.
So now I seem to have the basis of a tool for taking pictures on my phone and dropping them straight to LiveJournal. This could be a laugh...
